I’m going to have to make this a short one as it’s now almost midnight here, but I figured I could use this as an excuse to add some more pictures of the two new fur-babies … just ’cause I think my girls are cute … and squeeze in one last post for 2012. 🙂
I’ve been really proud of both of them the last few days. We’ve been “testing” them in different situations to see how they’d react. Yesterday we needed to go down to Darling Daughter’s house to drop off a few things and we decided to make two stops on the way there to see how they’d do making multiple stops in the truck … something we need to do on our long haul up to Shasta every summer. Yes, they both were wonderful. They even did really well visiting the shop of one of our friends … especially since they got to meet about 10 new people at once there! They seem to do best if all of us are together which is good, especially if we’re all going to someday go on vacation together.
And the last few nights they’ve both settled down at bedtime. Well, mostly Phoebe … Samira was going a little psycho last night, running up and down the hall. But Phoebe mostly ignored her and Sami eventually settled down too. Yay! I was getting tired of shutting the bedroom door and locking the poor cat out.
Darn … I guess we can’t do sideshows anymore. Bummer. Anyway … I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve. Enjoy!

She loves laptops … especially when the screen saver is going. I got to the point where I just close mine when I’m not working on it. 🙄

Nice shots – especially of Sami in hubby’s arm. Sami looks quite a bit like our one guy Deke. Our new guy, Stryper, has a similar but weird pattern in his fur – it’s like his stripes were black paint that ran in the rain! But he’s doing quite well, and has FAR outlived anybody’s expectations. My wife ran into the vet in the store the other day, and she was STUNNED that Stryper was still alive. Everybody figured we’d have him for 10 days to 2 weeks, max, then all his ills would have caught up to him. Nope – he’s doing just fine and is gradually integrating with the rest of the feline horde!
Hope you had a good New Year, and that 2013 is bringing you all good things!

I hope you had a good New Year too John!
I love the shot of Sami nestled in the crook of hubby’s arm. BTW, she positioned herself on her back like that … no one coaxed her. 🙂

We think Phoebe is a Border Collie and German Shepherd mix. Not only is she a really pretty girl, she’s super sweet too.
I used to have two orange tabby boys (I think all orange tabbies are boys … heard that somewhere) and both were fairly friendly. But Samira isn’t orange. She’s technically a brown tabby and specifically a Pixie Bob. She’s a little stinker but being cute and sometimes sweet makes up for it. And she really likes her puppy sister.
Thanks for the heads-up on the book but I’m not really into fantasy and unfortunately I haven’t had much time to read lately anyway. One of these days … perhaps when I decide to retire. 🙄
