OK kiddies … time to do another crystal post. The topic of “Using Crystals” post #4 is elixirs. I’m not sure why this particular term has been used for crystal waters. It sounds too much like something a snake oil salesman would hawk. πŸ˜‰

The principle behind crystal elixirs is similar to that for homeopathic remedies. In a homeopathic remedy the herbs used are diluted in pure water to the point where they are almost gone. It’s been found over the years that even though the amount of “active” material is very small, the water retains the energetic (and electromagnetic) signature of that material.

The idea is similar with crystals except that there is none of the crystal material dissolved in the water … only the energy of the crystal which is “imprinted” on the water. The crystals elixirs work more on the energetic bodies and not our physical body … very much like the crystals themselves do.

The process of making a crystal elixir is really simple … and there are two methods that can be used. The direct method has the crystal(s) in contact with the water and is used with stones that won’t readily dissolve in the water. The indirect method keeps the stone(s) in a vessel with the container in the water. If you are at all uncertain about whether or not a stone will dissolve in water, use the indirect method.

Direct method: Place your crystal(s) in a clear glass bowl or bottle (I use a stoppered apothecary bottle because I don’t want bird poop or jet fuel in the mixture) and add bottled or spring water. (you can use tap water but I only recommend that if you are certain your water supply has no chemicals in it) Set in the sun for as long as possible … some folks advocate 12 hours are necessary, but that’s impossible at some times of year here and I’ve found that 4 – 6 hours works pretty well for mine.

Indirect method: For stones that dissolve in water, place them in a clear glass bottle or bowl, then place that container in a larger bottle or bowl with the water in it. Even though the water doesn’t touch the crystal(s) it will still pick up the energy from them. Again, leave in the sun as long as possible.

When you’re done, pour the water into a bottle with a dropper cap and place 3-4 drops on your tongue as needed throughout the day. If you are going to store/use for more than a week, add some vodka or brandy as a preservative. (I used a ratio of 1 part vodka to 3 parts water)

Some of the “formulas” I’ve used are:

Amethyst and Opal for headaches
Kunzite and Flourite the help recover from stress
Amazonite and Kamboba Jasper to help clear blocked energies
Green Tourmaline and Black Tourmaline to help maintain spinal alignment
Apophylite and Danburite for allergies
Blue Tourmaline and Green Calcite for bacterial infections
Chrysoprase and Smoky Quartz for fungal infections
Citrine and Lepidolite to help balance hormone levels

Some of these I use by themselves and some I use to give a “boost” to conventional or herbal remedies. They work quite well too. If I use the spinal alignment formula regularly my chiropractor has a much easier time adjusting my back. (hmmm, probably ought to make a new batch since I haven’t used it in a while and keep managing to tweak my back … duh) I do urge caution with the one to clear blocked energies though, it works very quickly and if there is a substantial blockage it can cause physical problems to occur in the area where the blockage was. (and yes, I’ve had that happen πŸ˜‰ )
